Carol Cain left a career in public relations to better enjoy life with her three boys and husband. In the process she managed to incorporate her love for travel into the mix and now lives to share her adventures with others. Carol is the publisher of the award-winning travel site NYCityMama in 2008, a catalog of her adventures in and around NYC, with and without kids in tow. Almost 4 years later, Girl Gone Travel is the “grown up” version of her original site, where she continues to share her travel adventures far beyond The Big Apple, though you can always expect to read about her beloved city here too.
Her passion for travel is often contagious having earned her awards and recognition from her peers and others in the media and travel industry. She has shared her travel tips and stories both online and in print outlets such as American Airline’s Black Atlas, Matador Network, New York Family Magazine, Good Housekeeping and Lifetime Moms, just to name a few.
Carol has a BA in Communications from Queens College, NY and an MBA in International Relations. She is bilingual, with a fluency in Spanish.
NBC named Carol one of NYC’s “The 20“ most influential people to follow on Twitter and Residence Inn by Marriott awarded her the Resident Mom of The Year Award 2012 for her work in inspiring other mothers to take on travel. Babble.com named NYCityMama.com one of the Top 100 Mom Blogs of 2011 and the site was nominated by Nickelodeon as the Best NYC Blog.
From the bottom of my heart… Suerte hermana!
