The Urban Jibaro

The Poetry Botánicaä is a project dedicated to creating art that heals and transforms the self and the community. A creation of Maria Mar with Corazon Tierra, The Poetry Botánicaä brings together poets, performers, dancers, visual artists, musicians, healers and shamans who want to promote healing and evolution in humanity through the arts.

The concept of the popular botánicas, with their syncretic, colorful mixture of physical and spiritual remedies is brought back to life by artist-shaman Maria Mar. It is adapted to present art, metaphor, love and creativity as the essentially healing and transformative ingredients in personal and collective life and consciousness.
