Through poetry, prose, and music, Nuyorican Poet/performance artist,
Maria Aponte tells the story of the women in her family. Highlighting their migration from Puerto Rico to New York City’s El Barrio,
Ms. Aponte covers her family’s history from 1945 to the present. As each generation unfolds, the women share their dreams, hopes, and aspirations from each passing decade to the present generation, and how those dreams unfold.
