Saludos…
I want to take an opportunity to invite each one of you to visit La Feria De Salud Saturday, September 24th, 2011 and somehow make a difference in your community. Whether you’re volunteering bringing someone you love educating yourself or just help spreading the word you would be doing your part in helping us stop diabetes.
I had been involved with Por Tu Familia going on for years and this is my third Feria and I couldn’t be prouder of not just the organizers of this event but every single volunteers, health workers, churches, community partners, administrators and doctors that I have personally witnessed make a difference in the quality of lives of thousands of Latinos in NYC.
Every single meeting and brainstorming session some of the most brilliant minds in New York City get-together to find out how to make a bigger impact than we did yesterday and for that reason I must say that Por Tu Familia is the first organization that will add to the #CertifiedSofrito list.
If you are interested in finding out more about Por Tu Familia and the Latino initiatives of the American Diabetes Association visit us on Facebook today and don’t forget to tell someone you love that you are dedicated to helping us stop diabetes once and for all.

About Feria de Salud
Feria is an outdoor community event that is intended to reach thousands of local Latinos/Hispanics with the important message that they may be at risk for diabetes. Feria captures the festive elements of a street fair, but maintains the important aspects of choosing and managing a healthier lifestyle for the entire Latino family. The atmosphere of Feria includes music, dancing, nutritional information, cooking demonstrations, speakers on topics related to diabetes, and a variety of product and service booths.
